What you will need


  • 1 Block of firm tofu (280g)

  • 1/2 Cup plain flour

  • 1/2 Cup beer of choice (we used FreshMex lime lager)

  • 30g Tex rub

  • 1 Jar Chipotle salsa

  • Baby gem lettuce

  • 100ml vegetable or sunflower oil


Method

  1. Cut the tofu block into 16 pieces by cutting in to 4 slices then cutting each slice in to 4
  2. Add the flour, beer and Tex rub to a bowl and mix together until a batter is formed
  3. Heat the oil in a frying pan on high heat then once hot dip each piece of tofu into the batter and fry for around 2-3 minutes until golden and flip over and fry for another 2 minutes
  4. To toasted tacos add lettuce, 1-2 pieces of the battered tofu and a tablespoon of chipotle salsa
